Making The Invisible Visible
How America’s Oldest Jeweler recruited Montreal’s finest jewelry artisans to save a lost art.
How do you measure an emotion?
What is the weight of a sentiment?
It is the artist’s calling to do nothing less than make the invisible visible. Though intangible, the artist understands that the works they create are charged with meaning, not only for the artist, but for those who receive it.
To create a work of art takes devotion.
As an American legacy company, now in our 239th year, we are in the enviable position of having centuries of expertise and trust behind our brand. But our true staying power comes from our understanding that we, like all artisans, provide a service core to the emotional needs of human beings.
Bixlers was founded by a master clockmaker not eight years after the founding of the United States. Adapting the intricacy and precision of fine timepiece making to fine jewelry making, techniques were developed that have been passed down from generation to generation in service of ensuring that a precious moment, memory, or milestone can live on.
Our founder’s devotion to preserving his craft is the stuff of legend, and today I am proud to be the steward of an artform that has endured for centuries.
So often a piece of high art is seen as a kind of status symbol as if that is its purpose. We do not make status symbols. Our exclusivity comes from the time and great care it takes to handcraft a Bixlers piece. We make understated artisanal pieces, peerless in wearability and longevity in celebration of fine and high jewelry’s true purpose: to serve as a priceless symbol of one heart’s devotion to another.
“We believe that the future of our industry is sustainable.”
Where many have moved production overseas, we are steadfast in our commitment to keeping 100% of our manufacturing in North America. In the cultural, historic, and forward-thinking mecca that is Montreal, Canada, we have created a new certified sustainable atelier for a new age to rival the finest High Jewelry houses. Renewable energy, repurposed materials, and ethically sourced gemstones are utilized with techniques perfected over centuries to reveal for our customers their deepest emotions when words fall short.
Because we remain a proudly independent brand, we are free to create the pieces we want and the pieces our customers have always dreamed of. This freedom also allows us to make modifications quickly at the customer’s behest. Because at Bixlers, craftsmanship has always been synonymous with small, family-business spirit. To this day, I work directly with the designers, craftspeople, engineers, and staff who remind me each day that the family spirit established centuries ago, lives on.
“Our Vision is to become the most sought after fine jewelry brand.”
“Our Mission is to craft the most beautiful fine jewelry, recognized at first glance.”
From our exclusive, certified sustainable atelier in Montreal, Canada, the men and women of Bixlers cherish the unique opportunity to bring our Fine and High Jewelry collections to life and share our devotion with the world.
We believe that no matter the age or circumstance, the human touch must be present to make the invisible visible.
Though challenges remain unseen, devotion will see you through.
